The church of St. Mary Magdalene, Richmond

The church of St. Mary Magdalene has been at the centre of Richmond for over 800 years, providing a fantastic wealth of material for this exhibition, which celebrates the church’s history and is being held at the Museum of Richmond and St. Mary Magdalene. Visit both venues to discover the church’s fascinating stories.

The exhibition examines subjects as diverse as the medieval establishment of the church and The Rolling Stones. Historic objects are on display to tell the story of the church and recollections of current members of the congregation are available to listen to.
There is a free downloadable walking tour of the church, so there are plenty of ways to learn more about this significant part of Richmond’s history. Simply download the FREE Izi Travel app from the App Store or Google Play Store and search Museum of Richmond to find the tour, which is narrated by the Museum’s new Patron, Anita Anand.

Supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund and by the Richmond Church Charity Estates.
