This year’s theme explores the Arts and Crafts Movement of the late 19th and early 20th centuries in South and West London. A number of designers and skilled craft workers were to be found in the area covered by our sponsoring societies and the fashionable style also influenced the design of local architecture.
Speakers include Val Bott on Bedford Park homes; Sarah Hardy on William De Morgan; Mallory Horrill on the Kelmscott & Doves Presses; Ilona Jesnick on Rust & Co’s mosaics; Chris Jordan on the Martin Brothers; James Marshall on Arthur J Penty and Paul Velluet on Arts & Crafts Architecture in the Richmond area.
Doors open at 9:30 am.
Tickets are £15 and can be booked at TicketSource: https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/whats-on/richmond/duke-street-church/by-hand-and-eye-the-43rd-west-london-local-history-conference/2024-04-13/09:30/t-moazqak
