The 2023 Richmond May Fair was a great success for us<\/h1>\n

\"\"<\/a>We had a great time at the Richmond May Fair on Saturday 13 May 2023. Thank you to our volunteers who set up and ran the stand and to everyone who visited us to find out more about what we do and our area\u2019s local history. We were delighted to welcome so many new or returning members and to bring home far fewer publications than we had started the day with.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Society had a stall at the Kew Horticultural Society’s annual show<\/strong> at Kew Green on Saturday 5 September 2015<\/strong>. Despite the weather being cold all day there was a fairly steady stream of interest in the Society’s display of publications and we signed up some new members.<\/p>\n

At the Kew Fete on Saturday 20 June <\/strong>we had a busy day selling books and distributing a flyer about our forthcoming talks.<\/p>\n

We had a very good day at Richmond’s May Fair on Saturday 9 May 2015<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

As well as having the opportunity to sell our publications and to launch the new issue of our journal Richmond History<\/em><\/a>, we managed to encourage many more people than before to visit our stall and to find out what the Society also has to offer.<\/p>\n

Many people took out membership for the first time and we had 39 entries to our competition, only five of them from members.<\/p>\n

A newly recruited member, Peter Griffiths, won \u00a310 worth of publications by submitting the winning entry. The Society’s new President, David Blomfield, is seen here just before he opened the box to make the draw.<\/p>\n

The Society’s colourful new bunting, which we used at the Richmond May Fair and at the two Kew events was created for us by Tessa Maclean.
